While nearly every package or label requires some level of graphic design, in order to draw a customer’s attention to the information being communicated on the surface, sometimes an illustration is required to help tell a story of the product; be it the product’s use, the user’s experience, or the concept behind the product. Scope: Custom Illustration & Design

A leading housewares manufacturer was looking for a solution to use on their packaging for an innovative, problem-solving, kitchen waste can.

The can’s design, and the challenge of the illustration, focused on the lid mechanism, which was engineered to slowly lower the lid, to avoid messes, as well as the functionality of the item having wheels, which helps prevent injuries incurred by lifting.

The client requested two elegant, monochromatic, call-out illustrations, that showcased each feature in a way that was eye-catching, yet fully-explanatory without need of showing multiple “steps”, as package space was at a premium. The client also wanted the artwork in three different colors, as they weren’t finalized with their own package design color choices.
