Scope: Logo and Signage design

A small business, suddenly faced with an expansion and relocating to a new, higher-exposure location, wanted a new logo design that could also be used for a carved, gold-leafed store sign.

The NOOK, a seller of antiques and other esoterica, old and new, wanted a logo that had one foot in each time-frame – looking both fresh and of a by-gone age.

The design also needed to be able to give the woodworking artisans a complete grasp of the 3-dimensional appearance the owner’s were wanting in the finished signage.

Incorporating the lettering for the store “The NOOK” into the design, we crafted a beautiful, timeless, and whimsical logo.

Some elements needed to be debossed and/or embossed to differing heights to help give a dimensional look, which was wanted for the sign.

Result: What could be more timeless, being of the past, standing tall today, and yet reaching for the future than a tree? Allowing the playful nod of having twin acorns stand in for the two letter “O”’s , really helped make this design a delight for the client.
